The level of accuracy varies based on hardware in use.
Whether you are using an internal GPS chip in your mobile device or connecting to an external GPS receiver as outlined in this article, Ecobot is displaying location data pulled from a hardware source.
To view the accuracy of your data points in Ecobot, please export the CSV file from your survey. The accuracy field will display values in meters.

External GNSS Devices
Note: Ecobot has built an integration with Trimble, Eos, Juniper Systems, and SXblue, enabling a full view of GNSS metadata, called Location Data View in-app.
If you're using an external GPS device, the website of your device's manufacturer should list the device's GPS specs and give you an idea of what to expect in the field.
GNSS Resources
The USDA Forest Service performs regular testing on both internal and external GPS receivers in various conditions and provides this results database as a free resource. This will enable you to compare specialized external GNSS receivers and mobile devices and help you determine what type of device is best for your business needs.
Note: Ecobot does not endorse the results of the Forest Service tests, nor do we recommend any particular GPS manufacturer or brand over another.
